Network Cultural Urban Studies Research
The network of cultural urban research emerged from a research project on "Mittelstädtische Urbanitäten. Ethnographic urban research in Wels and Hildesheim", whose co-operation partners have been regularly invited to Vienna to exchange ideas since 2012. This led to the development of the network, which offers an open forum for reflection and discussion of concepts, theories, methods and projects of cultural-ethnographic urban research. Young academics (pre- and post-doc) are welcome to discuss their research projects in this forum. Every year, a workshop is held in Vienna to discuss current research projects, cultural studies methods and theories of urban research on various topics and to engage in fundamental debates on concepts such as urbanity, city and country.
